Miguel Fliman was born and raised San Jose, Costa Rica where he earned his BSc and Licenciate in Material Sciences and Engineering with a Subspecialty in Microelectronics from the Costarrican Institue of Technology. He moved to Israel in 2011 to pursue his research and learning passion and received a MsC in Nanotechnology and Nanosciences from the Israeli Institute of Technology (Technion); soon after he started working in R&D, he amassed  7 years experience in Material Sciences R&D, 6 of them in the Renewable energy sector (Fuel Cells and Electrolyzers). In 2025 he started his PhD research at the Eisenberg Lab researching Nickel-based electrocatalysts for the oxidation of organic fuels. Miguel enjoys good food, metal and rock music, board and card games and loves coffee and his 2 furry babies Alice and Red.
