Omer Zaltzberg

Omer was born in Kiryat-Yam, Israel in 1995. He is an M.Sc. student researching the electrocatalysis of the urea oxidation reaction on nickel hydroxide catalysts at the Eisenberg Lab of Electrochemistry and Energy at the Schulich Faculty of Chemistry, Technion. He completed his dual B.Sc. in Materials Science and Engineering and Chemistry at the Technion in 2025. He joined the lab in mid-2023 as part of a project whose goal was to explore samarium-manganese oxide as catalysts for reducing nitrate to ammonia. He decided to continue his M.Sc. in the group due to a deep interest in the field of electrochemistry and a strong curiosity about energy and renewable fuel sources to help improve our world.
In addition to his academic research, he enjoys traveling with his wife and their dog Nami, reading a wide variety of books, working with his hands through activities like solving puzzles (his largest completed puzzle having 9,000 pieces) and building all kinds of things, and exploring new topics.
